Guru Purnima at Ramakrishna Mission Kalyani

Dear devotees of Sri Ramakrishna,

Swami Vivekananda writes, I quote, "The most compassionate divine Lord has manifested himself far more fully in this modern age than He ever assumed in any other age, playing as He has done on the entire gamut of all the spiritual moods and experiences and utilizing to the utmost all arts and sciences". Again, I quote "...this new faith of the age is the fruitful source of all blessings to the world especially to India Bharat and Sri Bhagavan Ramakrishna the founder of this new religion of the age is the reformed manifestation of the ancient holy founders of the religions of the past. Have faith in it. Oh man, grasp it."

In Sri Ramakrishna we find the guru shakti, the power of the guru, manifested to the fullest extent when it comes to the real realization of spiritual truths. Sri Ramakrishna's experiences had no parallel in the entire spiritual history of the world. As the giver of spirituality, we find Sri Ramakrishna doing it with the greatest ease in respect to hundreds and thousands of spiritual seekers who flocked to Him, including His own gurus. The truths that He preached were simple and appealed to all types of spiritual seekers, the sadhakas, in all levels of spiritual evolution. In liberality, His path included each and every path to spiritual realization discovered so far. We thus find Sri Ramakrishna to be the supreme master, the guru of all gurus, the Jagat Guru, in whom all human beings find spiritual shelter.

Sri Ramakrishna has generated a great spiritual power in the whole world. We are all bound to Him in a chord of love and surrender. We look upon Him as our father and mother. He is our guru. He is our guide. He is our master and mentor. He is caring for and guiding us in all our endeavors, both spiritual and temporal. We look towards Him as a child towards its father and mother. Our duty is to hold on to Sri Ramakrishna, having Him as our only goal and refuge. We will be blessed and attain the highest if He but throws His gracious glance upon us.

We are blessed thus on this holy day of Gurupurnima that we are in this world when we are so near in time to Sri Ramakrishna, who lived just 139 years back in time. Along with Him were the divine mother Sri Sarada Devi and the world teacher Swami Vivekananda and a galaxy of great saints who were the master's direct disciples. Their lives and words should awaken us from our deep slumber of worldliness. We should arise and become alert to practice the spiritual practices according to their teachings. Thus, we can reach the ultimate goal of human life, the realization of God who is the soul of our souls, who is infinite life, infinite knowledge, and infinite bliss. May the blessings of Sri Ramakrishna be upon all of us. May we enter through His grace into a new age of spirituality, love, oneness, and spiritual help and service. Jai Ramakrishna.
