Ramakrishna Mission Charitable Dispensary

The Charitable dispensary run by Ramakrishna Math Madurai offers free medical services to the underprivileged. It has two clinics, one for allopathy and one for homeopathy, where patients can consult qualified doctors and get medicines for free. It also conducts a free eye camp every third Sunday of the month, where people can get their eyes checked and receive spectacles or surgery if needed. In addition, it organizes health awareness programmes from time to time to educate the public about various health issues and preventive measures.

Allopathic Clinic

  • Medical Team: 4 doctors, including 2 eye specialists.
  • Service Frequency: Available four days a week.
  • Patients Served: 1724 patients received free services and medicines.
  • Optical Services: Approximately 200 patients received free spectacles.
  • Cataract Surgeries: Around 60 patients have been referred for cataract operations.

Homeopathic Clinic

  • Medical Services: Provided by 3 doctors.
  • Frequency: Available three days per week.
  • Patient Count: 752 patients served.
  • Cost: Services are free.

Medical Camp

General Medical Camps:

Gayespur Camp (January 20, 2024):

    • Opened a new mobile medical center.
    • 3 doctors (including 1 Eye specialist) provided services.
    • 69 patients received free services.
  • RKM Kalyani Premises Camp (March 17, 2024):
    • 6 doctors served.
    • 156 patients received free services.

Eye Camp (March 17, 2024, Ashrama premises):

  • 121 patients received free services.
  • Approx. 12 patients received spectacles.
  • 6 patients selected for operation.

Blood Donation Camps

This year, three successful blood donation camps were organized:

  • On January 5, 2025, Kalyani Town Club, in association with Ramakrishna Mission, organized a blood donation camp where 64 donors contributed blood.
  • Ramakrishna Mission Kalyani, in association with RKM Seva Pratishthan, organized a blood donation camp at JIS School of Polytechnic, Kalyani, Nadia, on February 21, 2025. A total of 102 students donated blood at this event.
  • A "Blood donation camp" was held at Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani, on March 23, 2025, in association with Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan, Kolkata. This camp, held at the Ashrama premises, saw 88 donors contribute blood. Donors included two Brahmacharins, many male and female volunteers, devotees, students, and general public. Notably, around 35 members of the 49 BN Battalion, NCC cadets, and NSS students from four colleges under the Department of Physical Education, Kalyani University, also participated.
