Relief Activities by Ramakrishna Mission Kalyani

A steady commitment

For three years running, Ramakrishna Mission Kalyani has provided food, clothing, and shelter essentials to the poor and elderly — season after season, independent of any single crisis or festival.

Bi-Fortnightly Matri Puja

Every third Sunday of the month, we provide a full ration kit — rice, pulses, potatoes, oil, spices, and daily essentials — to 150 poor and elderly women. This program has run without a break since 2023.

Seasonal Cloth & Blanket Distribution

Around major festivals and through the winter months, we distribute sarees, blankets, shoes, and warm clothing across Kalyani and nearby villages.

- 2023-24: 591 sarees + 200 blankets (our first year)

- 2024-25: 500+ sarees, 200 blankets, 100 jackets

- 2025-26: 2,214 people received support — our highest yet

Reaching the Most Exposed

Each winter, our outreach specifically targets those with the least protection from the cold:
- Brick-kiln worker families (Kalyani rural belt)
- Families living at railway stations
- Adivasi para residents
- Students at Vir Sidhu Kanhu Nagar school

Ma Sarada Bayaska Siksha Prakalpa

Launched in December 2025, this is a new initiative for elderly learners. The first centre opened at Bir Sidhu Kanhu Nagar Primary School with 130 aged students — extending our relief work into ongoing education and care for seniors.
